Why this matters
Home to more than 8 million people, the West Midlands has some of the widest health inequalities in the country, with healthy life expectancy varying by more than a decade between neighbourhoods.
The West Midlands Living Lab explores how to break down siloes between existing services and orchestrate better, connected health and social care across the diverse region. It also demonstrates how remote monitoring and AI prediction tools can facilitate hospital discharge and integrate health data to keep people informed and well in their own homes.
