How Gold Coast Health uses SafeZone to support proactive staff safety
As healthcare providers adapt to increasing expectations around staff safety, lone worker protection, violence prevention and delivering more care in complex community settings, organisations need technology that enables proactive, coordinated incident management.

Gold Coast Health, one of Australia's largest health services, implemented SafeZone to modernise how it protects approximately 12,000 staff, including around 1,300 community-based workers completing more than 48,000 home and community visits every year. The organisation replaced manual check-in processes with a real-time digital solution that gives managers greater visibility of staff safety and enables faster responses to incidents.
Following deployment, nearly 1,200 staff adopted the platform, with check-ins increasing by 320% and between 6,500 and 8,000 check-ins now recorded each month. SafeZone has also enabled rapid responses to staff duress alerts while providing operational data that helps identify trends, improve risk management and strengthen future prevention strategies. Gold Coast Health says the platform has become a core component of its staff safety programme and has increased confidence for teams working across hospitals and in the community.
